Slow Down To Get More Done

The Power of Pacing 1973157-1618288-thumbnail.jpg

Recently I realized my business goals have me running an endless marathon of projects and priorities. As soon as I reach the finish line of one project and its multiple priorities, I'm at the starting line of the next project with another set of complex priorities. To help me go the distance and achieve my objectives on schedule, I decided to slow down to get more done. Sound counterintuitive and crazy to you? Well, it's really working well for me.

Instead of worrying about how I'm going to get everything done, I let go of the notion that there isn't enough time. Mentally this takes me out of the fast forward lane, where zooming seems to be the only option. Slowing down drops me back into the here and NOW, where I can see ways to pace myself. Functioning at a pace more effective for me, I'm calmer and more focused. Time is not a hurtle in my path and it's easier for me to stay on track. In the last two weeks I reached a slew of project and priority deadlines with enough energy to enjoy the rest of my life.

Try It! You'll Like It. 1973157-1642878-thumbnail.jpg

Practice pacing yourself. See how it works for you. Start with just one priority or project. Get back in touch with your natural work rhythm. Notice how productive you are when you're not trying to achieve at fast forward speeds. Stop playing the Time Game, as a client of mine describes it. If you think you can't "afford to go slow," you may simply be out of touch with how effective you are when you're focused and committed to giving yourself what you need to be Your Business Best or Your Professional and Personal Best
